In today’s competitive dental industry, high-quality video content is essential for attracting and retaining patients. Before transitioning into filmmaking, I studied marketing at the UBC Sauder School of Business, where I received a scholarship that covered my third year in full. A great example of this is my work with Ovation Dental. Over just a few months, we produced three distinct sets of videos to align with the clinic’s evolving business goals.

First, we created content to generate pre-sales while the clinic was still under construction. Since there was no physical space to showcase, we focused on lifestyle branding—highlighting the daily routines of the clinic’s ideal patient demographic. In these videos, young professionals were shown working out, going on dates, and then visiting the clinic, positioning Ovation Dental as an integral part of their lifestyle. The content also emphasized the clinic’s prime location near a SkyTrain station, making accessibility a key selling point. To drive conversions, we incorporated a strong call-to-action at the end of these real estate-style videos, encouraging potential patients to pre-register.

As the clinic neared completion, we shifted our focus to launch content. This phase was all about showcasing the beautiful new space, designed by the renowned Mansouri Group. We filmed high-end real estate-style footage to highlight the clinic’s aesthetics and modern design. In addition, we produced promotional ads offering incentives for first-time patients, such as special pricing on Invisalign and professional cleanings. These videos created excitement and helped attract an initial wave of customers.

Finally, once the business was fully operational, our content strategy shifted again. We produced a series of service-focused videos and performance-driven ads. By this stage, we had developed a deep understanding of Ovation Dental’s brand identity and visual style, allowing us to create content that felt consistent and engaging. These videos not only reinforced the clinic’s reputation but also helped drive continued patient growth.

The case of Ovation Dental illustrates the power of strategic video marketing.
